another new regimen

Came up with another new regimen, next month I unleash hell on my hairloss. :P

More "to do" list

May 25, 2009 by astro_boy   Comments (1)

Had my PRP done, only enough to cover about 2/3 of my head so should be an interesting experiment to see the comparasion on the non treated area. If I do get good result I'll simply go back to finish the job.

I want to do A&G again after I heal a bit from the PRP and after that start a daily topical regimen.

5% Spiro Lotion Nightly - can't find any good (and safe + reliable) topical androgen antagonist so spiro will have to do for now.

Aminexil - To break up fibrosis.

Elsoms JuveLine - Mainly for the Copper and Zinc healing properties.

Apple Stem Cells - Something new I want to try, will look for a shampoo that contains it. Revita and Sigma seem to contain apple polyphenols but I understand the stem cells are different. If I feel like that's not enough then I'll have to look for another containing product.

Holding off Minoxidil for now, this is hard to do because I feel I can get good results from it, however for some reason I feel the correct route to go first is to focus on healing instead of forcing growth.

Next 6 Month Plan

Finished A&G approx. 2 weeks ago and for the next while my plan looks like this:

Aminexil Treatment  - This takes 6 weeks to complete, by this time I should have a good idea on how well A&G has worked for me.

A&G Round 2 - 20 days to complete, I'm convinced A&G is doing something it's just a matter of how much. I'll see how well it does after 3 months and then do it again to see if it's enhanced with a second application or by the Aminexil.

Minoxidil - So I caved and am bringing out the kitchen sink. I know for now I'll never get a result I'm totally happy with but the closer I get the better so I'm going to use everything. Starting nanominox after the second A&G. May switch to the Polaris formula with apple poly at a later date.

Still continuing to take my Finasteride and Suppliments, Laser 3x/week and Nizoral 1x/week to keep inflamation down. If Dr. Jones actually does pick up PRP injections maybe I'll go for one of those when it becomes available here. If all that doesnt work then wow, I can really say I have tried almost everything.

If Hair Regeneration/Multiplication/Cloning/Synthetic Implanting or whatever.. doesn't get here within the next 5-10 years then that sucks cause I obviously can't/don't want to keep this up forever.

Shaved Head

Shaved my head down to a 1/4... and actually it doesn't look all that bad. I think because my hairline is still an ok distance, glad about that.

Starting up AGHC tomorrow, so will post up new baselines.

Beard Hair

April 3, 2009 by astro_boy   Comments (3)

I started growing my beard out with this new shorter haircut, maybe to compensate I don't know. I guess I'm doing the Jason Statham thing for now, it sort of works on me. My beard has always been pretty much like steel wool very bristly and all my hair is very dark but now it's a bit softer and it grows slower and I notice a lot more less pigmented copper colored hairs in there. I even pulled one out of my sideburn with no pigment at all.. not grey, but transparent. Weird.

It's not a side effect that I care about, I haven't had any that ever raised any concern but maybe worth noting none the less. I just hope it means the Finasteride is working.

03.26.09

My first entry,

Went to take some baseline photos, got my hair cut very short. I've always been pretty good at hiding my thinning. Most people wouldn't even notice. With this short haircut though I can't hide anything which is I suppose both good and bad. I've never really gotten to see the extent and pattern of thinning this well before.

Blogging helps. I remember someone once saying "going bald is nothing to be ashamed of, it happens to the best of us".

Current Regimen:

46 days on

Finasteride - Proscar 1.25mg/day

Ketoconozole - Nizoral 2%, 2-3x/week

Adding soon:

Supplements - B-Complex, Active Silicon, MSM

Laser Helmet

A & G Hair Complex

Hopefully A & G complex works really well for me. If not I'll be forced to start Minoxidil. Right now looking at nanominox and nanominox-ms as best candidates.
